This month’s meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 8 virtually via Zoom! We will begin at 7:30 pm with brief announcements followed by our speaker and a question and answer session.
Rick Bordeaux will speak on Winterizing Hives. He will look at why some of our hives don’t survive and five actions to take when preparing your hives for Winter. A method/calculation for determining the amount of honey in your hives will be presented along with some supplies and equipment you might want to use in preparing your hives for Winter.
Rick has been keeping bees for 11 years and is currently serving our club as a member of the Board of Directors. He is a graduate of NC State University with a BS in Biological Sciences and retired in 2011 from his position in Drinking Water Laboratory Certification with the State Laboratory of Public Health. With Covid-19 eliminating some of his volunteer activities, he now enjoys more time riding his bike on the Raleigh Greenway.
Details on accessing the meeting will be in the October newsletter.
