7:30 pm – WCBA Meeting with speaker Mark Smith on the topic of “A Year in my Chemical Free Apiary”
This month features speaker Mark Smith, Program Director of Cabarrus County Beekeepers. Mark lives in Locust, NC and started keeping bees in 2010 and has managed his apiaries by using Chemical-Free practices since 2014. Mark will be taking the attendees through a calendar year of his management plan. Keeping bees Chemical-Free is much more than just putting bees in a box. His success with this method of beekeeping is due to his management plan. He would also like to note that he hasn’t bought any bees since 2011 and have never lost all of his bees which are two common questions that are often asked at each presentation.
