Spring Workshop for Beginner Beekeepers – March 29-30, 2014

Registration for the March 2014 beekeeping class has closed, and the class is full.   If there is sufficient interest, the WCBA may offer a second class later in the year.  Please contact club secretary Kate Hanser (secretary@wakecountybeekeepers.org) if you would like to receive information about a future class.  Thank you to all who have expressed interest!

Interested in beekeeping, but unsure how to get started?  Or, have you just started but have lots of questions?  This intensive, informational workshop will help you successfully work with honeybees in North Carolina.  A full day of classroom instruction is followed by an afternoon of guided, hands-on work in club-sponsored hives.  Testing to become NCSBA Certified beekeepers is offered, and encouraged.

The workshop will be held the weekend of March 29-30, 2014.  Classroom instruction will be held Saturday at the Raleigh Police Club at 3500 Leonard Rd. in Knightdale, with the hands-on portion following on Sunday afternoon at the club hives in Oak View County Park in Raleigh.  Participation is limited to 60, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Cost of the two-day workshop is $50 and includes one year memberships to both the WCBA and the NCSBA.

Register by March 15, 2014.
